ART AND CULTURE PROGRAMME MANAGER

Sport Ireland is the State Agency responsible for the sustainable
development of sport in Ireland. It is responsible for the development
of the Sport Ireland Campus, the home of Irish sports, located on a
historic *-acre site in Blanchardstown, West
Dublin, on which a range of world class sporting facilities exist and
are being developed.

In addition to offering many sport facilities and opportunities, the
Sport Ireland Campus, operated by Sport Ireland Facilities DAC, offers
a unique and wonderful opportunity to promote and develop cultural
activities and opportunities, as well as public art projects, on the
campus.

The new position of ART AND CULTURE PROGRAMME MANAGER will lead this
opportunity as part of the Sport Ireland Campus team.

A key element of the role will be the development and management of
public art commissioning activity alongside the ongoing capital
infrastructure development on the campus. The second element is the
delivery of a range of new cultural programmes, projects and
initiatives on the Campus, in collaboration with varied partners to
engage the local communities, visitors to the campus, sport
organisations, and the general public.

POSITION ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Create connections with local communities, other State agencies
and organisations to support the delivery of an engaging cultural
programme, raise the profile and reputation of the Campus, and
demonstrate our relevance to the community.
* Develop and deliver a Cultural programme that celebrates all forms
of arts and culture, creating opportunities to activate the Sport
Ireland Campus through the development and promotion of arts and
culture on site.
* Establish an Art & Culture Advisory Group to advise and support
the implementation of cultural projects and activities on the campus.
* Serve as a primary point of contact for Sport Ireland and Sport
Ireland Facilities DAC for queries, projects and activities.
* Lead an Art and Culture committee which will include Sport
Ireland/ Sport Ireland Campus staff members.
* Programme events and initiatives that align with significant
national cultural events such as Culture Night, Open House, Heritage
Week and major sport events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
* Work to support artists and arts organisations in the creation and
delivery of work on the campus, across a wide range of artistic
disciplines.
* Identify and develop project opportunities that engage, inspire,
and celebrate Irish sport and our athletes.
* Liaise and work closely with the Campus Development Team,
architects and other stakeholders involved in the planning and
development of the Sport Ireland Campus.
* Actively engage with the development of local and national plans,
such as the Fingal Arts Plan, Fingal Heritage Plan, etc.
* Identify, target and secure additional funding opportunities to
support the development of art and culture activities on the campus.
* Advise and support the progression Public Art Commissions on the
Sport Ireland Campus.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Enthusiastic and highly motivated individual that sees the
potential and would relish the opportunity to lead and progress an
exciting mix of cultural opportunities on the Sport Ireland Campus
* Third level qualifications and / or considerable experience
serving in similar role(s)
* Experience in the planning, development and delivery of a range of
art, culture and community outreach projects, events, and initiatives.
* Good knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the Irish Sports
landscape.
* Strong project management, curation and relationship management
skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Capacity to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds,
agencies and sectors.
* Experience of working as part of a team as well as on own
initiative.

SPORT IRELAND CAMPUS

The Sport Ireland Campus is in Blanchardstown, West Dublin and serves
as the home of Irish sport. The site contains a range of world class
sport facilities including the National Aquatic Centre, the National
Indoor Arena, and a range of sport facilities including the Sport
Ireland Institute.

The Campus has a rich landscape of opportunities across its **Apply on

The Sport Ireland Campus is operated by Sport Ireland Facilities DAC

Irish Sport where performance, participation and recreational sport
live side by side, in an inspirational venue that hosts great events
and is a home for the sporting community. The Campus is already home
or headquarters to a growing number of National Governing Bodies of
sports, sporting bodies working to develop and promote sport at a
community and participative level, alongside high-performance
training.

The Masterplan sets out a new vision for the Campus as “an ecosystem
for sport, within a sustainable and connective network of movement and
landscape, creating distinctive, memorable and characterful places of
the highest levels of design quality”.
